Because it is difficult to permeabilize cardiac, dermal, neuronal, tumor and vascular tissue, it is difficult to detect apoptosis and then duplicate your results with these tissue types. Trevigen has solved this issue by developing permeabilization reagents specific to each tissue type. In addition, Trevigen has also developed reagents to enhance the signal, making the kits extremely sensitive. These reagents are optimized in each kit based on the tissue type. Kits contain enough reagents  to stain 30 samples.

The TUNEL-based assays are available in several formats  with multiple options for labeling and counterstaining. The TACS•XL^® kit is based on incorporation of bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) at the 3’ OH ends of the DNA fragments that are formed during apoptosis. Our TACS^® 2 TdT Kits utilize Trevigen’s unique cation optimization system as well as a number of proprietary reagents to enhance labeling within particular tissue types.
